Lewis County Fire District 15 is a small rural fire agency located an hour south of the State Capitol of Olympia, and an hour north of Portland, Oregon just off of Interstate 5 at Exit 63. Encompassing 42 square miles, fire & EMS service coverage includes the City of Winlock and the unincorporated surrounding area. The district is made up of farmland, small city, remote timberlands, and rural homes, in addition to railway, interstate, and local highways. It is rapidly becoming the fastest growing area in Lewis County with growth not only with industrial business, but residential development as well. District members continually train to quickly and effectively handle all calls for service. Our roster is made up of a Fire Chief, 3 - Lieutenant/EMT's, 3 - Firefighter/EMT's, 3 - AMR Paramedic's (contracted) and 7 - Volunteers.
The District is governed by a board of three commissioners. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm at the main fire station at 609 NW Kerron Street and the public is invited to attend. The District maintains three fire stations:
Station 15-1 is the main station downtown Winlock at 609 NW Kerron Street and is where all staff and administration is housed. It also houses Engine 15-1, Tender 15-1, Brush 15-1, Aid 15-1, Medic 15-1 & Support 15-1.
Station 15-2 is located at the Winlock High School at 241 N. Military Road. It houses Engine 15-2 and Tender 15-2. It is not a staffed station.
Station 15-3 is located at 541 Nelson Road and houses the district's antique engine. It is also not staffed.
The district also has ongoing mutual aid agreements with Lewis County Fire District #5 in Napavine, Lewis County Fire District #2 in Toledo, Cowlitz-Lewis Fire District #20 in Vader/Ryderwood and Lewis County Medic One.
